H-B should have kept Ed Benedict's Original Designs Rather Than Have Them Watered Down Drastically - Asim.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5403931334822730200.post-55938753023919067322010-07-03T06:52:05.991-07:002010-07-03T06:52:05.991-07:00Could the grouping of bear drawings (above the bea...Could the grouping of bear drawings (above the bear family) have been sketched out for "Hey There It's Yogi Bear??"Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5403931334822730200.post-16835266763989217842010-07-03T05:41:17.098-07:002010-07-03T05:41:17.098-07:00Shane, they look like something designed for a com...Shane, they look like something designed for a commercial, not for Yogi. But I really don't know. What's interesting is the bear has the same bent-wrist construction that George Nicholas used on Yogi.Yowphttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09264605351878574044noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5403931334822730200.post-65540955670675418482010-07-02T20:31:48.299-07:002010-07-02T20:31:48.299-07:00heyy there yowp i havent left a comment in a while...heyy there yowp i havent left a comment in a while but dont think ive forgotten about your remarkable blog , excelent info on these classic cartoons i had no idea there was so much that went into them , it makes you appreciate them even more , and mega kudos for all your previous shares of library music (Big Thanks)Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5403931334822730200.post-2930527531044729642010-07-02T18:25:24.193-07:002010-07-02T18:25:24.193-07:00I remember the times how old Cartoon Network websi...I remember the times how old Cartoon Network website having in safe those old pre-models from this cartoons. I admit that the original design looks more specific and oriented to the audience than the version we have.

About "Slick City Slicker", it's a great cartoon where Maltese reuse a lot of his Warner gags. Even as a kid i can recognise the connection between Warner Bros. and the early Hanna-Barbera cartoons, but never thinkin to the writers.Martin Juneauhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00193943985570930659noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5403931334822730200.post-34551990913625641972010-07-02T14:08:54.549-07:002010-07-02T14:08:54.549-07:00You're right, that bear family isn't Yogi-...You're right, that bear family isn't Yogi- I saw them recently in a different H&B cartoon, but the name escapes me.cartoonretrohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00513067522570302084noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5403931334822730200.post-2091497470593728202010-07-01T16:36:14.210-07:002010-07-01T16:36:14.210-07:00Wow - what a flashback. IIRC there was another character that went with Gas Genie - gray in color and smaller. (The Gas Genie was doll was blue)I don't recall its name.Bob Jaqueshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08227103731900437087noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5403931334822730200.post-47099587617025460842010-07-01T06:22:25.806-07:002010-07-01T06:22:25.806-07:00Hi Yowp,
That last Quick Draw storyboard you post...Hi Yowp,

That last Quick Draw storyboard you posted was definitely not drawn by Gene Hazelton, but probably by Alex Lovy. Gene did indeed draw storyboards for Quick Draw McGraw...in fact, I have seen his storyboards for both Huck and Quick Draw show "bumpers". Hazelton also produced licensing art for H-B, including the sketches for the Huck and Yogi viewmaster setups.MARK CHRISTIANSENhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07313957747157833979noreply@blogger.com
